There is more diversity in types of cruise ships and
cruise experiences than most people think. Aside from
the typical massive luxury liners headed for the Caribbean,
ships can be more private, cater to families. And there
are almost as many types of cruises out there as there
are ports of call around the globe. Some of the most
popular cruises are aboard large ocean liners with service
ranging from casual to opulent.
For others, the best way to see the world from the water
is aboard a smaller, more intimate ship.
FAMILIES FIND FUN,
onboard Cruises
Remember the days before the family came along?
Back then, spring meant a time to cruise to someplace
exotic and warm, with beaches, snorkeling, and shopping.
Cruise ships appealed almost exclusively to adults,
with the revues, casinos, and 24-hour buffets. The few
children onboard went stir crazy by day three, roaming
the decks aimlessly and wishing they were at Walt Disney
World.
Recently, cruise ships have been expanding their audiences,
attempting to lure entire families onboard with attractions
that appeal to all ages.
