Itinerary

DAY 1. BOGOTA

Private transfer from El Dorado airport to selected hotel.

Upon arrival at the airport in Bogota, you will be met by our guide and transferred to the hotel. The transfer will take approximately 45 minutes with normal traffic. Our representative will assist you at the airport. On the way, he will provide useful information for your stay.

Bogota is the capital of Colombia with approximately 8 million people; it is a center of cosmopolitan sophistication and has become an epicenter of business, politics and entertainment. The city has transformed itself into an amazing tourist destination and a welcoming city. Bogota has a thriving nightlife, excellent outdoor dining and bar culture, as well as international shopping. Its prime location and international airport make it highly accessible and functional as a main gateway to destinations throughout the country.

DAY 2. BOGOTÁ. CITY TOUR WITH MONSERRATE AND GOLD MUSEUM.

A complete city tour that will show you the highlights of the Colombian capital. See the Plaza de Bolivar, the historic center of Bogota surrounded by the Primary Cathedral of Colombia, the National Capitol, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Palace of Justice, the Liévano Palace, the Great City Hall of Bogota, passing by the Nariño Palace, official residence of the Head of State, San Carlos Palace and residence and seat of government of Simon Bolivar.

Visit the Gold Museum, which displays a large collection of Hispanic and pre-Columbian jewelry made of gold and tumbaga (an alloy of gold and copper). Then walk through the Candelaria neighborhood, declared a national monument, with its steep and narrow streets, mansions and balconies that are heritage and living memory of colonial architecture.

Visit the Monserrate sanctuary, located at 10,500 feet on top of a hill with the same name. One of the oldest and most important in the country, the monastery can be reached by cable car or funicular railway that crosses ancient eucalyptus forests. Once at the top you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of Bogota stretching across the valley.

DÍA 3. BOGOTÁ. VISITA A ZIPAQUIRÁ CON MINA DE SAL

Breakfast. A guide will take you to the town of Zipaquirá, one hour north of Bogotá. As you pass through small villages, floriculture and meandering rivers along the way, the appeal of the Colombian countryside becomes evident. Zipaquirá is recognized as “the city of salt”, given the extraction of the mineral in this town. The subway salt cathedral was built in a halite mine during the 1930s, and remains a popular destination for travelers and the local faithful. The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá is considered one of the most remarkable architectural and artistic achievements of Colombian architecture, even granting it the title of “architectural jewel of modernity”.

DAY 4 : AIRPORT DEPARTURE TRANSFERS

Breakfast. Private transportation with English speaking driver and English speaking guide.

Our guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and take you to El Dorado airport. We will assist you at the airport during check-in at the airline counter to help you connect to your next destination.
