The ‘Festival de Luces’ Christmas Lighting Festival celebrates 56 years of highlighting Colombian traditions, customs, flora and fauna, showcasing Colombia as a benchmark in biodiversity and cultural richness. Last year, the lighting was inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ ENCANTO.
Tour of Lights in Medellín is one of the most popular in the city, an activity that allows us to share with the family the majestic Christmas season that is celebrated in the capital of Antioquia. “The river is once again the central axis of the Christmas Lighting, with a walkable route between the bridges of Guayaquil and San Juan, the luminous water fountains and monumental figures on the riverbed, as we did before building River Parks,” said Medelln Mayor Daniel Quintero Calle. This will be an attraction for the near to 3 million people who have historically visited the Alumbrados, which produce an economic benefit in the City of up to 160 billion pesos, helping to revive the economy while creating jobs.”
Itinerary
| Day 1 – Arrival
Upon arrival at the Airport in Medellin, you will be received by our guide and transferred to the hotel. Private transfer from the Jose Maria Cordoba, with a Spanish-speaking driver airport to the hotel. Along the way, he will provide useful information for your stay.

City Tour with Metro Cable and Comuna 13
Panoramic visit to the most representative places of the city including the Golden Mile, Provenza, La Alpujarra, The Intelligent Building, Barefoot Park, and Plaza de Botero. Visit Comuna 13 where you will be part of the transformation that Medellín has undertaken in recent years; It includes its most outstanding changes that have transformed society through its modern means of transport and social intervention such as escalators and the Metro cable.

| Christmas Lights Tour
In the evening we take the tour of the lights, where we walk through the main avenues by the different decorations with Christmas lights in the City of Eternal Spring; we visit the Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a traditional Antioquian village, which has restaurants and stores with handicrafts, this place is known for its spectacular panoramic view from the top of Cerro Nutibara.

Full Day in Guatapé with Lunch
Pick up at the hotel, transfer to the municipality, we make our first visits to the Old Peñol, replica of what was the old Guatapé, from there we go to the Piedra del Peñol (entrance is optional), we make a city tour of Guatapé by motorcycle and then take a walk through the square – church – observation of the sockets on the facades of the buildings, visit to craft stores (Plazoleta de los Zócalos), lunch will be in Tierra adentro. |

Shopping tour in the city of Medellin. Visiting different local stores such as Calle de la Primavera and Avenida Jardin, Outlets, garment factories and one of the best shopping malls such as El Tesoro or Santa Fe. Finish the tour with an excellent cup of coffee in the afternoon in one of the most exclusive places in Medellin. |
